Carmen J. Borg, AICP
Carmen Borg joined Shute, Mihaly & Weinberger LLP as an urban planner in 2002 after working as an environmental consultant specializing in the preparation of environmental and planning documents. She previously worked with the Natural Resources Defense Council as a member of the Western Water Project. She has a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Ms. Borg advises the firm’s clients on planning and CEQA related issues. She has extensive experience preparing, reviewing and critiquing environmental impact reports and other CEQA documents; managing technical consultants; and preparing comment letters for consideration by public officials. She also provides assistance drafting local citizen initiative measures and referenda affecting land use; drafting local general plans, zoning ordinances, LAFCO guidelines, and state legislation concerning planning issues; and organizing community citizen workshops about the CEQA process.
Ms. Borg is a member of the American Planning Association, American Institute of Certified Planners and the Association of Environmental Professionals.
